Deconstructed portraits (lightbox series)

This series look at portraiture from a multifaceted perspective. It creates thousands of miniature views of different parts of the subject. Each view providing the viewer with an alternate focal point and also a means of the subject themselves to stare directly back as the viewer – this sets up a conversation of sorts between viewer and subject. With omnipresent surveillance systems that make everything capturable and visible, the series creates an imagined snapshot of a hyper-portrait. The hyper-portrait, in this sense, is one in which each micro image of the subject is perfectly alone, individualized and visible however, the totality of views maintains a harmonious consistency in the distance between portrait and viewer.
